    Job Title: Freelance CFD Engineer - Expert in OpenFOAM and Turbomachinery Engineering Job Purpose: To perform advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations using OpenFOAM to model transpiration cooling and heat transfer in gas turbine blades. The goal is to enhance the aerodynamics and thermal efficiencies of gas turbine engines. The role involves developing, analyzing, and validating high-fidelity models for this application, contributing to innovative solutions in turbine cooling technologies. Required Qualification: Masters, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on turbomachinery or thermal systems. Certification or proven expertise in OpenFOAM CFD tool usage is highly desirable. Tools to be Familiar: OpenFOAM (for CFD modeling and simulation), MATLAB and Python Required Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in CFD simulation with OpenFOAM. Demonstrated expertise in turbomachinery engineering, specifically gas turbines, including heat transfer analysis and aerodynamics. Prior experience in modeling transpiration cooling systems is a significant advantage. Required Knowledge/Skills: Strong understanding of gas turbine systems, including blade cooling and heat transfer mechanisms. Expertise in developing and solving multi-physics problems involving fluid flow, heat transfer, and material interactions. Proficiency in meshing techniques and numerical methods for solving complex CFD problems. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with aerodynamic principles and thermal performance optimization in turbomachinery. Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled CFD Engineer with expertise in OpenFOAM and strong knowledge of turbomachinery engineering to work on a cutting-edge research project. The project focuses on modeling transpiration cooling technology for gas turbine blades to improve their aerodynamic and thermal efficiencies. As a freelance researcher, you will: Conduct advanced CFD simulations to model the flow and heat transfer in turbine blade designs. Develop and validate high-fidelity numerical models to study transpiration cooling. Collaborate with the project team to analyze and optimize cooling performance and aerodynamic characteristics. Prepare technical reports and visualizations to communicate simulation findings effectively. Suggest innovative design modifications based on simulation results to enhance turbine performance.
