Job Description

As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by designing and executing effective testing strategies. You will collaborate closely with development teams to identify test requirements, create test plans, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products. Your role will involve testing various software components, including Java REST APIs, web applications, win apps and integration points with third-party services.
Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing, and executing test plans, test cases, and automated tests for Java/C# -based applications, REST APIs, and integrated systems.
  • Performing functional, regression, performance, and security testing on the software products.
  • Collaborating with product owners, developers, and business analysts to understand requirements and contribute to the design of test cases based on feature specifications.
  • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts using tools and frameworks like JUnit, Selenium, or similar.
  • Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects in a bug-tracking system and collaborating with developers to resolve issues.
  • Conducting API testing to ensure that all endpoints are functional, reliable, and secure.
  • Creating and executing performance and load testing to ensure scalability and reliability under heavy usage.
  • Ensuring the security of applications by testing APIs for common vulnerabilities, including OWASP Top 10 risks (e.g., authentication, authorization, data leakage).
  • Continuously improving the test coverage and test automation frameworks.
  • Analyzing test results, generating reports, and providing feedback to development teams.
  • Participating in peer reviews, design reviews, and sprint planning to ensure testability and quality assurance from the start of the project.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and tools in software testing, including advancements in automated testing and continuous integration practices.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of tested solutions.
Skills Required:
  • Strong proficiency in testing web, JAVA/.Net based applications and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Selenium,NUnit, MSTest, or xUnit or similar.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (e.g., functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing).
  • Familiarity with RESTful principles and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI).
  • Understanding of web technologies and protocols (e.g., HTTP, JSON, XML, SOAP).
  • Knowledge of testing tools for performance testing, such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
  • Experience in using bug tracking systems (e.g., Azure devops/JAMA) to track issues and test progress.
  • Solid understanding of security testing, including knowledge of common vulnerabilities in web applications and APIs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex software issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SQL and the ability to write queries to validate data in the backend.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify potential issues and defects proactively.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to provide feedback that helps improve product quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
