Equipment operators are responsible for controlling the machinery used during the construction process. They are licensed individuals who report to a supervisor or foreman. Equipment operators are skilled in the use of bulldozers, excavators, rollers, trenchers, compactors, and other equipment.
SKILLS Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred. Proficiency in using tools and equipment. Time management and organizational skills. Knowledge of mathematics and basic calculations. Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and the public. Maintain an effective working relationship with others. Perform with minimum supervision. Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions. Available to work overtime. Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot potential issues. Resourcefulness in learning new manuals and processes. Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to understand mechanics and technical tasks.
