Job Description
Technical Product Manager
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with outstanding talent to join the ThingWorx development team. Ideal candidates will have a passion for technology. You will be part of a fast-moving, experienced team using agile development processes to create world-class software products which will bring value to our customers. ThingWorx is a platform for building connected applications. This role will require hands on development work and familiarity with software development. Experience with Scrum and agile processes is also a must. This individual will be a key player in the design and development of next generation Internet technology solutions aimed at the Industrial IoT market
Primary Responsibilities:
- Working in an Agile environment, writing user stories, creating product backlogs, prioritizing work, and performing story acceptance.
- Participate in the vision, design, and implementation of quality products.
- Bridge the gap between our product management team and engineering, distilling high level requirements into actionable plans that our expert developers can execute on.
- Bring a user perspective to the design of our products, ensuring that we deliver products that our customers want to use.
- Work with engineering teams to produce delivery estimates for new features and products.
- Continuously learn new technologies and develop new skills
- Become an expert on our products. Support internal training for new products and features.
Expertise and Knowledge:
- Experience with Scrum and agile processes is required
- Experience writing user stories, creating product backlogs, prioritizing work, and performing story acceptance.
- Experience with productivity tools and languages (Jira, Git, IDEs, scripting) is a plus.
- Object oriented design and development experience, integration with enterprise applications and systems/APIs (Java/REST/SOAP) is a plus. SAML, OATH and related security experience a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS EC2, Azure), REST, HTTP, and networking is a plus
- Experience or knowledge of Security practices, policies and procedures
- Experience or knowledge delivering enterprise grade software applications
- Experience or knowledge with productivity tools and languages (Jira, git, IDEs, scripting).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable interacting with technical and business professionals at every level.
- Work with publications team to help document features.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or knowledge with large scale computing platforms, multi-tenant architectures, cloud-based solutions, high availability solutions.
- Experience or knowledge of microservice architectures or distributed systems based in Azure, AWS or GCP
- Experience with Java, JavaScript or similar languages is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- Demonstrated success in product software development
- Minimum 8-10 years working in an enterprise software development delivery role. Minimum 3 years in hands-on software development using Internet technologies.
