Following work instructions and the daily production plan.
Proper application of work procedures and documentation to ensure safe and correct production.
Operating CNC machines (milling machines, lathes) and monitoring the machine to ensure it meets tolerance specifications.
Machine tending, including setting up and checking parts against specifications using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
Adjusting machine settings to ensure parts are within prescribed tolerances.
Safe handling of parts, clamping devices, and understanding machine tools, ZERO points (machine coordinates), and tool offsets.
Replacing tools when needed and measuring/setting them into the CNC machine accurately.
Tool offset correction for radius and length, ensuring precision in machining.
ZERO point correction and knowledge of machine settings.
Inspecting parts on the machine using measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications.
Reporting defects immediately to a supervisor and following quality control protocols.
Filling in work order documentation and quality control protocols for traceability. Daily cleaning of machines and ensuring proper maintenance.
Removing and separating waste chips produced during machining.
Following procedures for waste separation, including hazardous materials (e.g., oily cloths).
Keeping open communication with supervisors regarding any machine issues or production problems. Reporting defective products immediately for timely resolution.
