    Designation: Deputy Manager Updated: December 11, 2024 Location: Maharashtra, India Organization: Textiles Job Description: Job Purpose Job Purpose Description Job Context & Major Challenges The Lab (Y&D) is responsible for shade development for yarn dyeing purposes in addition to testing the quality of dyed yarn by carrying out several physical and chemical tests. For the purpose if shade development, a library of around 5000 shades is maintained, the shades of which have been compressed and categorized in 800 shade families based on requirement frequency of shades. The shade library has been inherited from the parent company in Turkey. Currently, around 90% of the shades in library are still the inherited ones. The lab is also responsible for conducting IQC (Incoming Quality Control) of around 40 items including chemicals, moisture testing in briquette, furnace oil etc. The lab (Y&D) is unique in terms of the wide range and number of shades available for dyeing options. It is a priority always to pick near matching shade from the available library for dye recipe preparation. This practice ensures accurate dye recipes and rare minimum shade variation issues. Also, Lab process is unique in terms of different dye recipe preparation for VAT and reactive dyes, which is uncommon in other factories in India. Also, the standardized system for transparency and traceability related to dyeing process is key strength of the lab. Challenges 1. Developing dye recipe for critical shades, as they are more prone to fastness and levelness issues 2. Controlling external conditions to prevent molecular changes in chemicals and dyes Key Result Areas KRA (Accountabilities) (Max 1325 Characters) Supporting Actions (Max 1325 Characters) KRA1 Developing and customizing dye recipes as per the shade and finish requirements Consider factors like yarn count, order size, criticality of shade, design coverage, required finish etc. while deciding on dye recipe Coordinate in choosing to develop new dye recipe or customize some existing recipe KRA2 Maintaining the library of dyes recipes corresponding to 4000 shades Maintaining shade log books for easy reference while matching shades Coordinating in maintaining a compact group size of 615 basic dye recipes separately to ease out matching, developing and customizing process of recipes Coordinating in periodic library segregation and shade categorization for easy reference Maintaining dye alternatives by identify close shades for usage in urgent situations KRA3 Coordinating in Quality check of dyes and strength check for grey yarn Carrying out sample dyeing, followed by quality check basis before releasing for production Categorizing dyed yarn as OK1, OK2 or OK3 based on shade consistency, appearance and yarn strength For OK3 categorized yarn, coordinating with yarn & dyeing and TQM department to decide on further actions Following up at different production stages about dyed yarn approved on conditional terms under category OK3 Coordinating with Y&D department in taking decisions over weak dyed yarn (less RKM) Contacting suppliers in case of rejection of chemicals or dyes KRA4 Coordinating in taking steps to deal with levelness and fastness related issues in dyed yarn In case of critical shades, identify and finalize reactive shades to prevent levelness issues Using fastness grey scale to identify level and extent of fastness Coordinating with Yarn Dyeing, Design and PPC departments to take decisions on re-dyeing and re-correction. Coordinating approval of Internal Quality Control for all dye recipes only after checking sample dyed yarn for fastness and shade matching KRA5 Coordinate for achieving maximum dyeing machine utilization and reducing wastage of yarn in warehouse Coordinating with warehouse for using remnant dyed yarn Providing inputs to make batches with close shades together in order to save machine cleaning and dye changing time KRA6 Qualifications: Diploma in Textile Manufacture,Bachelor Of Textiles Minimum Experience Level: 5-12 Years Report to: Manager,
