- Job Description Senior Tableau Server Administrator What youll be doing: Supporting and advising Cart on all aspects of Tableau Server, including installation, management, upgrades, performance tuning, configuration, and troubleshooting across multiple server environments. Owns Cloud Ops for Tableau Environments - includes cloud infrastructure, deployments, and monitoring Driving cutting-edge innovation in Tableau through REST API and other Tableau APIs, Python scripting, and XML hacking. Deploying and tuning Tableau within Linux-based deployments, including the future-forward emphasis on containerized deployment through Kubernetes. Managing and automating processes in multiple environments, including a large-scale customer-facing embedded environment and internal production environment with scripted content elevation. Overseeing permissions management for both internal and external users via Connected Apps and external authentication services. Working closely with. data engineering and front-end teams to tune both live and extracted data sources from Snowflake and embedded dashboards for optimum performance. Working with Tableau premier support to ensure future upgrades execute with minimal downtime You have: Proven skill and experience: installing, managing, and troubleshooting Tableau Server on Google Cloud. Experience with Tableau on Linux and general familiarity with Unix-based systems. Ability to extend Tableau Server: utilizing Python and other scripting languages to leverage Tableau's APIs (Javascript, REST, Embed, Hyper, and other associated APIs) Performance engineering: Focus on performance tuning, testing, and capacity planning both within Tableau and using additional tools (Snowflake, Tabjolt, and Scout) Embedded analytics familiarity: Experience with implementing embedded analytics solutions, networking, & security Conviction in what you recommend: comfort and ease in educating and guiding internal stakeholders and developers at Tableau through novel and groundbreaking solutions Client-Centric: Experience owning engagements and providing best practice advice. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage expectations and client demands Future focus: a passion for testing pre-release versions of Tableau Server to establish expertise prior to general availability.
