Job Description

1. Database Administration & Maintenance

• Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

2. Backup & Recovery Management

• Implement, monitor, and test database backup and recovery strategies using SQL Server native tools or third-party solutions.

3. Performance Tuning & Optimization (PTO)

• Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database structures to enhance performance.

4. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

• Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including slow queries, deadlocks, and connectivity problems.

5. Security & User Management

• Manage database security, including user roles, permissions, and encryption techniques to ensure data protection.

6. High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR) Solutions

• Configure and maintain SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Replication, Log Shipping, and Mirroring.

7. Database Installations & Upgrades

• Perform installations, upgrades, and patches for SQL Server instances, ensuring minimal downtime.

8. Scripting & Automation

• Develop and maintain SQL scripts, PowerShell scripts, or jobs to automate routine database tasks.

9. Monitoring & Alerts Management

• Utilize SQL Server tools like Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party monitoring solutions to track database performance and issues.

10. Data Migration & ETL Processes

• Support data migration, ETL processes, and integration using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).

11. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain documentation for database configurations, troubleshooting steps, and performance reports.

12. Collaboration & Support

Work with development teams, IT operations, and stakeholders to provide database support and ensure efficient data operations
