- Job description 1. Database Architecture Design Design and develop scalable database solutions that meet the organizations data storage, retrieval, and management needs. Work with stakeholders to define database requirements and data models, ensuring alignment with business goals. Design data flows, data structures, and processes that support Big Data integration and analytics. Expertize in PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc. Expertize in Data Migration between cross database platforms. Expertize in Linux commands. 2. Big Data Integration and Management Implement solutions that integrate Big Data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases) into the existing database infrastructure. Develop data pipelines and ETL processes for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage. Ensure seamless data flow and accessibility across various systems and data sources. 3. Performance Optimization and Scaling Optimize database performance. Design solutions to provide efficient scalability to handle large data volumes. Conduct regular performance assessments and implement improvements as needed to maintain optimal database performance. 4. Data Security and Compliance Conduct security audits and monitor for potential vulnerabilities within the database environment. Define data retention and archiving policies for efficient storage management . 6. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams Work closely with data engineers, Business Analysts, and application developers to understand data requirements and provide tailored solutions. Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure database environments are resilient, backed up, and disaster-proof. Facilitate training and knowledge sharing on best practices for database and Big Data technologies. 7. Evaluate and recommend new tools and platforms that enhance data processing, storage, and retrieval capabilities. Lead proof-of-concept (POC) projects to assess the feasibility and performance of new technologies. 8. Project Management and Documentation Document database architecture, design specifications, and system configurations for current and future reference. Prepare project plans, timelines, and reports on progress and status for stakeholders. Ensure that all database solutions are thoroughly documented and accessible for ongoing maintenance and support.
