Etl Tester Job in MNR Solutions Pvt Ltd

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented ETL Tester to join our data team. As an ETL Tester, you will be responsible for validating the accuracy, completeness, and quality of data flowing through the ETL pipeline. You will work closely with the development and data engineering teams to ensure that data transformation rules and business logic are correctly implemented, and that the final data in the target systems is reliable and accurate.

Key Responsibilities:

1. ETL Process Validation:

   • Execute tests on data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
   • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the ETL pipeline.
   • Validate data against source, transformation rules, and target systems.

2. Test Planning & Execution:

   • Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts for ETL processes.
   • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on ETL jobs.
   • Verify the correctness of data transformations and business logic.

3. Data Analysis:

   • Analyze source and target data to ensure that transformations are accurate and complete.
   • Identify discrepancies between source and target data and work with data engineers to resolve them.
   • Perform data profiling to ensure the quality of data is maintained throughout the ETL process.

4. Automation & Scripting:

   • Create and maintain automation scripts for repetitive ETL testing tasks.
   • Use testing frameworks like Selenium, Python, or other tools to automate ETL validation.

5. Collaboration:

   • Work with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to ensure accurate data flow through the ETL pipeline.
   • Communicate with stakeholders to define requirements and expectations for ETL testing.

6. Defect Management:

   • Log, track, and report defects found during testing.
   • Retest defects after fixes have been applied to ensure the issue is resolved.

7. Documentation:

   • Document testing procedures, results, and issues found.
   • Maintain detailed logs of test cases, test results, and defect resolution.

8. Performance & Optimization Testing:

   • Test the ETL processes for performance, scalability, and load handling.
   • Ensure that the ETL system can handle large volumes of data efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in ETL testing or data quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, etc.).
  • Experience with SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries to validate data.
  • Experience with data profiling and data quality tools.
  • Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, or Python-based scripts).
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
