- Job Description A Test Automation Engineer with 6 to 10 years of experience is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing solutions for Oracle Banking applications. This role involves designing test frameworks, creating automated test scripts for banking applications using Selenium with Java, and ensuring the quality and performance of complex banking systems. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the banking domain, allowing them to design test scenarios that align with business requirements and industry standards. The role demands close collaboration with development teams, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Career Level - IC3 Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Automation Framework Design and Development: Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable automation frameworks using Selenium with Java. Develop custom functions and utilities to support complex test scenarios. Functional and Regression Testing: Design and execute automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. Collaborate with business analysts to understand banking requirements and create comprehensive test plans and scenarios. Perform data validation and testing across various banking products, including credit/debit, loans, customer onboarding, and online transactions. Integration with CI/CD Pipelines: Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Ensure automated tests are executed during every build and deployment cycle, reducing manual intervention. Provide insights into test results and defects to facilitate continuous improvement of the testing process. Quality Assurance and Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation for test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and test execution reports. Maintain a repository of reusable test scripts and ensure consistency in test automation practices. Provide training and mentoring to junior QA team members on automation best practices. Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Work closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues identified during testing. Participate in requirement analysis and design meetings to provide input from a testing perspective. Primary Skills: Selenium with Java: Proficient in developing and maintaining automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Java. Good understanding of Java programming concepts, object-oriented programming (OOPS). Experience in using Java-based test frameworks. Test Automation Tools: Hands-on experience with API testing using tools like Postman, Newman, RestAssured, or SoapUI. Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter for testing banking applications under various load conditions. CI/CD and Version Control: Experience in integrating automation scripts with CI/CD tools like Jenkins for automated build and deployment processes. Strong understanding of version control systems like SVN or Git for managing automation code repositories. Test Management Tools: Proficiency in using test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or ALM for tracking test cases, reporting defects, and managing test execution cycles. Secondary Skills: Database Testing: Ability to write complex SQL queries for validating data integrity across banking databases. Experience in testing stored procedures, triggers, and data migrations in banking systems. Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, especially in testing cloud-hosted banking applications. Understanding of cloud-based testing environments and containerization tools like Docker, kubernetes. Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings. Ability to apply agile testing principles like continuous testing. API and Web Services Testing: Experience in testing RESTful and SOAP APIs for banking services. Knowledge of JSON, XML, and data validation techniques for API testing. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders, including business analysts and project managers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify testing bottlenecks and recommend improvements. Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Banking Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of banking functions such as retail banking, corporate banking, core banking systems, and financial transactions.
