Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer (QA Automation Engineer) _ to join our Infomatics & Connected Worksite -CAT IT team. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic QA Automation Engineer with proven experience in UI and API automation to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in automation testing and a desire to contribute to building robust testing solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and work on challenging projects in a supportive environment. The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore _PSN, Whitefield office and WTC , Chennai Office What you will do Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing, working closely with senior engineers and contributing to the overall framework. Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Execute automated test scripts for UI and API to validate application functionality, performance, and reliability. Perform database testing to ensure data integrity and validate business logic. Actively participate in the software development lifecycle, applying best practices in testing methodologies. Utilize CI/CD pipelines for test automation integration. Troubleshoot and debug test failures, collaborating with developers to identify and resolve issues. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the automation framework. Provide clear and concise test results and reports. Collaborate with manual testers to ensure thorough test coverage. Utilize JIRA or Azure DevOps for bug tracking, test case management, and project tracking. What you will have Demonstrable experience in UI and API automation testing. Proficient programming skills in Python (preferred) or Java. Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright (preferred) or Selenium. Hands-on experience with API automation tools such as Requests, Rest Assured, Postman, or JMeter. Experience with database testing (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle). Solid understanding of testing processes, both manual and automated. Experience with version control tools (Git). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience with JIRA or Azure DevOps (or similar bug tracking and project management tools). Preferred Skills: Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Oracle cloud platforms. Exposure to performance testing tools. Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Soft Skills: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges. Preferred Skills: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Oracle cloud platforms. Experience with performance testing tools. Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Level Working Knowledge: Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient. Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness. Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate. Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups. Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements. Level Extensive Experience: Conducts walkthroughs and monitors effectiveness and quality of the development activities. Elaborates on multiple-development toolkits for traditional and web-based software. Has participated in development of multiple or large software products. Contrasts advantages and drawbacks of different development languages and tools. Estimates and monitors development costs based on functional and technical requirements.
