- Job Description (JD) for a 3D Designer Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time/Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and creative 3D Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering, with a passion for creating visually stunning and realistic 3D content. You will work closely with our design and development teams to bring concepts to life and enhance our visual projects with high- quality 3D graphics. Key Responsibilities: 3D Modeling and Texturing: o Create high-quality 3D models based on design briefs, concepts, and references. o Apply textures, materials, and shaders to models to achieve desired visual effects. Lighting and Rendering: o Set up lighting and render scenes to produce realistic and visually appealing images. o Optimize rendering settings to balance quality and performance. Collaboration with Design Teams: o Work closely with graphic designers, animators, and developers to integrate 3D elements into projects. o Provide input on design concepts and offer suggestions for improving visual quality. Animation: o Create animations for 3D models as required, including character rigging and motion graphics. o Ensure animations are smooth, realistic, and aligned with project requirements. Project Management: o Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality. o Communicate progress regularly with team members and stakeholders. Stay Updated with Industry Trends: o Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in 3D design. o Experiment with new techniques and software to continually improve your skillset. Documentation and Asset Management: o Document processes, workflows, and best practices for future reference. o Organize and maintain a library of 3D assets for easy access and reuse. Qualifications: Education: o Bachelors degree in 3D Design, Animation, Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered. Experience: o Proven experience as a 3D Designer or similar role. o Strong portfolio showcasing your 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering work. Technical Skills: o Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or similar. o Experience with texturing tools like Substance Painter, Mari, or similar. o Strong understanding of lighting and rendering techniques. o Familiarity with animation software and techniques. Design Skills: o Strong artistic and visual design skills. o Ability to create realistic and stylized 3D models based on project requirements. Soft Skills: o Excellent communication and teamwork skills. o Creative problem-solving abilities. o Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine. Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, MEL). Familiarity with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) development. Basic understanding of UX/UI design principles.
