    Job Overview: The Build Specialist for Service Desk is responsible for Creating, Managing, Distributing Software Packages and maintaining the systems and tools that facilitate the efficient operation of the service desk. This role involves working closely with other IT professionals and service desk staff to ensure that the IT environment is optimized for performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Packaging Software: Packaging software and methods used to bundle software applications into a distributable format. This involves several aspects depending on the type of software and the platform. Testing And Validation: Testing and validation are crucial stages in the software development lifecycle, particularly for build specialists who are responsible for ensuring that builds are correctly integrated, functional, and stable in different environments. Deployment: The deployment process for a build specialist involves taking a successfully built and tested software application and moving it into a production environment where end-users can access it. This process can vary depending on the type of application (web, desktop, mobile, etc.) and the deployment environment (on-premises, cloud-based, hybrid). Updates And Maintenance: Updating and maintaining build systems and processes is a key responsibility for build specialists. This involves ensuring that the build infrastructure remains robust, secure, and efficient as software projects evolve. Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting is a critical skill for a build specialist, as it involves diagnosing and resolving issues that arise during the build and deployment processes. Effective troubleshooting helps maintain the stability and efficiency of the software development lifecycle. Documentation & Training: Effective documentation is crucial for a build specialist as it provides clarity, consistency, and a reference for both current and in future. Well-documented build processes help ensure that builds are reproducible, maintainable, and easier to troubleshoot. Provide training and support to service desk staff on new tools and technologies. User Management And Access Control: Manage user accounts and permissions within service desk systems. Ensure that access control measures are in place and comply with security policies. Incident And Problem Management: Assist in the resolution of incidents and problems related to service desk systems. Analyse and address recurring issues to prevent future occurrences. Project Management: Lead or participate in projects related to the deployment or enhancement of service desk systems. Work with stakeholders to define requirements and ensure that project deliverables meet expectations. Technical Skillset: Identify and deploy application updates through Microsoft Intune. Manage applications and manage app settings remotely. Identify the hardware and software that will be needed. Work with customers to architect modern Desktop/Device management solutions using Windows 10/ Android/ iOS with Intune and MDM Experience managing SharePoint TCP/IP fundamentals & Microsoft Windows-based networks and servers, including Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure Virtual Desktop, Intune Client computers running various Microsoft operating systems Experience of operating system installations, adding driver support for new hardware and maintaining builds Ability to accurately test and diagnose problems in a systematic and logical manner prior to delivering projects to implementation Configuring networking equipment Experience of application packaging and software deployment concepts and technologies Group Policy, on-premises domains and other legacy MS technologies Microsoft Windows Server Update Services Microsoft SQL Server installation and administration High attention to detail, with an emphasis on providing a seamless, fuss-free but functionally rich end user experience to our end users Education And Certification: Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) are a plus Problem-Solving: Soft Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications and services efficiently. Analytical skills to identify and address potential security threats and vulnerabilities. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. Project Management: Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Experience in planning, executing, and overseeing Microsoft 365-related projects and initiatives. Customer Service: Experience in providing technical support and training to end-users. Ability to address user concerns and provide effective solution.,
