The Communications Manager will be responsible for setting the strategy for and managing the execution of the India corporate communications plan. This will require good agency management skills. You should have a strong sense for news and how a story will play out in public. This role will seize the opportunity to tell Microsofts story as a leader in AI and innovation and will be part of a global communications team that is at the forefront of AI innovation and adoption. You will work alongside team members who are responsible for specific products, commercial and consumer propositions, employee communications and more. Your role will be to promote and defend the companys overall image and reputation in India particularly focusing on building trust and demonstrating innovation. You will need to be able to span across the entire company, managing and owning breaking reputational issues and opportunities but also driving proactive, high-profile, and agenda-setting results too. This will involve working closely with multiple internal stakeholders across south Asia Senior Leadership Team, various businesses and many more. Reporting to the Director of Communications Microsoft India South Asia, this role is part of the Global Communications Organization and operates in partnership with India South leadership team. Responsibilities Responsibilities Act as a leader and trusted advisor within Microsoft by advancing and protecting the corporate image and reputation by identifying opportunities to positively shift the perception of the Microsoft brand, and correct inaccuracies when they occur. You will be comfortable with managing fast-moving and highly ambiguous problems. You will have good relationships with the most senior journalists and creators across not only technology but ideally also business and policy areas - as well as non-media influencers and experts. You will have a deep understanding of India, South Asian markets, culture, political economic and media environment, and the local relevance for Microsofts business. You will have the ability, experience, and the credibility to counsel senior executives, up to and including the President for the region but also the attentiveness and emotional intelligence to work well with anyone in the business. A strong blend of defensive safety and opportunistic bravery (as well as a keen appreciation of when to use each) will be an asset in this role. Your storytelling skills will be second to none and you will need to drive your own proactive opportunities, using the unique opportunities of the Indian media and technology markets. Embody our culture and values Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree and 10+ years communications experience of working in both in-house, agency roles/ journalism background and experience of working with South Asia markets. Desired Key Skillset Excellent people and diplomacy skills A growth-mindset that enables creativity in thinking, analytical skills, an ability to deal with ambiguity, management of changing priorities, and consistency in partnering with and learning from others Excellent written and verbal communication and partnership skills across a diverse set of audiences and stakeholders Understanding and experience of working with the creator landscape in India Self-directing and highly adaptable, track record of delivering high impact communications results that map to stakeholder needs Strong team player who is willing to contribute to the India and South Asia team and the wider community beyond their immediate remit Being a great listener so that feedback can be synthesized, shared and actioned with our Global Comms colleagues in a cooperative and insightful way Comfortable with piloting new ideas and approaches #commsgroup ,
