Job Description
- Role Purpose The job holder has responsibility for the financial reporting of a portfolio of UK subsidiaries, US branches and Middle East entities. Key duties include the preparation of the annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP. Close working relationships will be established with the Global Process teams, the Group consolidation team, Group Tax, Treasury and Company Secretariat. The job holder will also need to liaise with the external auditors on a regular basis and co-ordinate the audit of the statutory accounts. Proficiency in PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office products and Caseware will be required. Success is measured through the timely and accurate production of the annual statutory accounts filings of the Groups subsidiary companies. Key Accountabilities Review and understand monthly trial balances extracted from PeopleSoft through enquiry and challenge of unusual and unexpected items. Completion of Blackline reconciliations for a number of Peoplesoft general ledger balance sheet account codes which the Europe Financial Reporting team have responsibility for monitoring and completing. Preparation of annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP, including liaison with the Group tax department, Group treasury and Company Secretariat. Co-ordinate the external audit of the annual statutory accounts. Co-ordination of the information required by the Group tax department as part of the year end tax compliance requirements on the annual statutory accounts for subsequent filing with the Inland Revenue. Ensure statutory accounts have appropriate and accurate iXBRL tagging for the Inland Revenue year end tax filing requirements for each statutory entity. Maintain up to date knowledge of UK GAAP. Participate in projects and complete ad hoc tasks, as and when required. Key Skills & Experiences Education AAT qualified (or equivalent). Experience Minimum 2+ years experience in a financial reporting environment, either within the accountancy profession or in industry. Experience of producing financial statements under UK GAAP essential. Exposure to the challenges of working in a global organisation preferred. PeopleSoft and Caseware experience an advantage. Technical skills and knowledge Technical knowledge of UK GAAP Proficiency in PeopleSoft, Caseware and Microsoft Office products Ability to develop and maintain working partnerships in a global organization Flexible and able to respond to short deadlines Good verbal and written communication skills Good analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work independently and within a team Don't quite meet every single requirement, but still believe you'd be a great fit for the job We'll never know unless you hit the "Apply" button.
