- Job Title: Linux & Patching Engineer Skills: Linux, RHCE, Patch Management Location: Gurugram Experience: 7-14 Years Duration: Fulltime Role Description Linux and Patching Engineer Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Linux and Patching Engineer with expertise in managing Linux systems and utilizing Red Hat Satellite Server for patching and system management. The ideal candidate will hold an RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification and have a strong background in patch management, system administration, and IT security. This role is critical for maintaining a secure, compliant, and efficient IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Linux Administration: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Linux systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) in a production environment. Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of Linux servers through proactive monitoring and optimization. Implement and enforce security best practices, including firewalls, SELinux, and system hardening. Patching and Vulnerability Management: Use Red Hat Satellite Server to plan, test, and deploy patches across the Linux environment. Ensure timely application of patches to address security vulnerabilities and maintain compliance. Collaborate with the security team to address findings from vulnerability management tools such as Rapid7. Create and maintain patching schedules to minimize downtime and ensure system stability. Automation and Configuration Management: Develop and maintain automation scripts for patching and system updates using Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools. Integrate Satellite Server with other tools and platforms to streamline operations and reporting. Use configuration management tools to maintain consistency across environments. Documentation and Collaboration: Maintain comprehensive documentation of patching schedules, processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides. Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams to ensure seamless system integration and compliance. Provide technical expertise and training to team members as needed. Qualifications: Required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. 3-5+ years of experience in Linux system administration and patch management. RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification. Hands-on experience with Red Hat Satellite Server for patching and system lifecycle management.
