    Summary We are looking for an Architect to join our Guidewire Professional Services team, which combines expertise in insurance with deep software implementation skills to lead transformative Services Solution projects for our customers. An Architect is a versatile professional who combines in-depth knowledge of Guidewire's core systems and object-oriented programming languages with advanced Python skills (other programming skills will be considered). They should have the ability to learn new and emerging techniques to deliver faster, smarter and more efficiently. This unique combination enables them to rapidly prototype solutions, develop microservices, and leverage Generative Al (GenAl) for innovative applications in the insurance domain. The role will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex solutions and architectures for our dedicated practice. This role requires overseeing both the technical and strategic aspects of software solutions, ensuring they align with business goals. Job Description Key responsibilities: Technical Leadership: Leading development teams in writing, testing, and maintaining high-quality code and configurations for enterprise-level applications. Advanced Configuration Management: Architecting and customizing sophisticated systems and platforms to meet detailed business requirements, ensuring scalability and robustness. Solution Architecture: Designing and overseeing end-to-end technical architectures that solve complex business problems, incorporating best practices and emerging technologies. Systems Integration: Managing and ensuring the seamless integration of multiple platforms, tools, and systems across the organization's IT landscape. Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving critical system issues, ensuring performance, security, and efficiency improvements. Mentorship & Collaboration: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior developers and collaborating with stakeholders, including IT leadership and business teams, to deliver optimal solutions. Strategic Documentation: Producing comprehensive technical documentation, roadmaps, and architecture blueprints for future reference and scalability. Product Expertise: Learn and master your assigned Guidewire product and pass the required Guidewire certification as a Subject matter expert within the expected timeframe. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field. 8-10 years of experience in insurance or technology-related roles. Deep knowledge of the insurance value chain, particularly in front-office and mid-office processes. Expertise in leading implementation projects and providing innovative, customer-centric solutions. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and business teams. Key skills: Languages: Fluent business level English is essential Software Implementation: Proven track record of leading large-scale software implementation projects, with expertise in translating complex business requirements into detailed functional specifications. Transformational Leadership: Strong ability to consult with clients and lead transformation initiatives, aligning business objectives with innovative solutions using the Guidewire Cloud Platform. Configuration and Customization: Configuring Guidewire applications to align with business requirements, including setting up. products that cover the full insurance lifecycle. Rapid Prototyping: Utilizing Python (or equivalent) to quickly develop and test new insurance features or workflows. This allows the developer to create proofs-of-concept (POCs) and validate ideas before committing to full-scale implementation, accelerating the delivery of new functionalities in Guidewire. Microservices Development: Designing and developing microservices that integrate with Guidewire applications. This includes creating lightweight, modular services that handle specific tasks, such as external data processing, policy pricing algorithms, or customer notification systems, allowing for more scalable and flexible system architecture. Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building robust and efficient microservices. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes foncontainerization and orchestration of microservices. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS for deploying and managing microservices in a cloud environment. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment: CI/CD practices using tools like TeamCity or Jenkins to automate the deployment process. Version control using Git to manage code changes and collaboration. GenAl Integration: Leveraging Generative Al to enhance underwriting, claims processing, and customer service. The developer can use Python (or equivalent) to build or integrate GenAl models that assist with automating repetitive tasks, generating personalized policy suggestions, or improving customer interactions through Al-driven chatbots and assistants. Al-Driven Decision Support: Building machine learning models or integrating pre-built Al models to enhance decision-making processes within Guidewire systems. API Development and Integration: Use Python to build or extend AP|s that connect Guidewire systems to external platforms or services to seamlessly integrate new functionalities into the existing Guidewire environments. Documentation and Training: Creating clear documentation for customizations, Python scripts, microservices, and GenAl models. Additionally, providing training to technical teams on the use of Python for rapid prototyping and microservices, as well as demonstrating the benefits of integrating Al-driven solutions. Preferred skills: Languages: Additional language skills are highly valued for working in global markets. Transformational Leadership: Strong ability to consult with clients and lead transformation initiatives, aligning business objectives with innovative solutions using the Guidewire Cloud Platform and GenAl technologies. Testing and Validation: Supporting quality assurance efforts by leading user acceptance testing strategy and execution, particularly for microservices and Al-driven applications. Data Integration and Processing: Using Python for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes that bring in data from external systems or third-party services into Guidewire. This includes building Python scripts to handle complex data operations, real-time data flows and improving the overall data management processes within the insurance platform. Enhanced Automation: Developing scripts for automation of critical tasks that are aligned to the insurance lifecycle with a view to reducing manual intervention, increasing operational efficiency, and enhancing accuracy in daily operations.
