Job Description
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using REST Assured to test RESTful APIs.
- Work closely with development teams to understand project requirements and create test scenarios.
- Automate functional, integration, regression, and load testing for APIs and web services.
- Perform API endpoint testing, including validating request/response, HTTP status codes, and error handling.
- Maintain and enhance automation frameworks to ensure test coverage and reliability.
- Perform continuous testing for new API features, track defects, and report status updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure proper code quality and testability of services.
- Review and analyze logs, and reports, and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Participate in regular code reviews and improve test automation practices.
- Integrate automation testing into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- 4-9 years of experience in Automation Testing, with a focus on API testing.
- Hands-on experience using REST Assured for automating API tests.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API principles and HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE).
- Proficient in Java, as REST Assured is primarily Java-based.
- Experience with TestNG or JUnit for test execution and reporting.
- Familiarity with API tools like Postman for manual testing of APIs.
- Understanding of JSON, XML, and other data formats commonly used in APIs.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Ability to write clear and effective test reports and logs.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to testing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins is a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and working in an Agile team environment.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automation testing, particularly for APIs.
