They play a crucial role in ensuring the construction of safe, accurate, and high-quality formwork structures in line with project specifications, schedules, and safety standards. This includes managing a team of workers, organizing resources, and liaising with other site supervisors to deliver efficient and timely results. Key Responsibilities Supervision and Execution Oversee the construction, installation, and dismantling of formwork for concrete structures, including walls, slabs, columns, beams, and other elements. Interpret technical drawings, formwork layouts, and project plans to guide work execution. Assign daily tasks to formwork carpenters and laborers based on the construction schedule. Ensure all formwork is constructed accurately, within tolerance levels, and meets safety and quality standards. Team Leadership and Coordination Manage, motivate, and supervise a team of formwork carpenters and general laborers to ensure productivity and efficiency. Train workers in proper formwork assembly techniques and the safe use of tools and equipment. Coordinate with site engineers, concrete supervisors, and other foremen to align formwork activities with project timelines. Quality Control Inspect formwork structures before and after concreting to verify dimensions, alignment, and stability. Identify defects or problems in the formwork and implement corrective measures promptly. Ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications at all stages of the formwork process. Safety and Compliance Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings to educate the team on potential hazards and safe practices. Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment. Material and Equipment Management Plan and request materials, tools, and equipment required for formwork activities, ensuring their availability in advance. Monitor the usage of formwork materials (e.g., timber, plywood, aluminum, steel), minimizing wastage and controlling costs. Ensure proper maintenance and storage of tools, equipment, and reusable formwork components. Progress Reporting Maintain daily records of work progress, workforce attendance, and material usage. Report any delays, challenges, or additional requirements to the Site Engineer or Construction Manager. Provide feedback on work progress and suggest improvements to optimize workflow. Qualifications and Experience Education Trade Certificate (ITI) . Experience At least 515 years of experience in formwork construction, with 25 years in a supervisory role. Proven expertise in different types of formwork systems (e.g., L&T formwork, timber, aluminum, steel, modular systems). Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of formwork systems, carpentry techniques, and construction processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Leadership and team management skills to supervise and motivate workers effectively. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle on-site challenges. Knowledge of construction safety practices and the ability to enforce safety regulations. Physical stamina to perform and supervise manual labor in challenging site conditions. Additional Requirements Familiarity with modern formwork systems and technologies is highly preferred. Basic proficiency in reporting and documentation.,
