Job Summary: The NOC Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure, servers, and IT systems to ensure 24/7 availability. They respond to incidents, troubleshoot network issues, and escalate problems when necessary to maintain service levels. Key Responsibilities: Network Monitoring: Use monitoring tools to track network performance, servers, and infrastructure. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network outages and performance issues. Incident Management: Respond to alerts, tickets, and incidents in a timely manner. Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support teams. Document incidents, resolutions, and recurring problems. System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine system checks and updates. Troubleshoot connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software problems. Assist with firmware and software upgrades as needed. Security & Compliance: Monitor security threats and vulnerabilities. Assist in implementing network security measures. Ensure compliance with IT policies and best practices. Collaboration & Communication: Work with network engineers, system administrators, and IT teams to resolve complex issues. Provide reports and summaries on network performance and outages. Communicate with clients or internal teams regarding incidents and resolutions. Qualifications & Skills: Technical Skills: Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG). Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF). Familiarity with Windows/Linux servers and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Basic understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and security tools. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and strong documentation skills. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred). 13 years of experience in network operations or IT support. Certifications like CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL are a plus.
