Job Description

Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA) PostgreSQL Location: Mumbai Job Type: Full-Time Experience: 7- 10 years Job Summary: Key Responsibilities: Database Management & Maintenance: Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases to ensure high performance, reliability, and availability. Perform database tuning and troubleshooting to resolve issues with query performance, data integrity, and access. Database Design & Development: Collaborate with developers and architects to design database structures that support application requirements. Develop and maintain schemas, indexes, tables, views, and functions. Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies. Regularly conduct database health checks, tuning, and maintenance tasks. Data Security & Compliance: Implement and manage database security, including user roles and permissions, to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards. Conduct regular security audits and backups to safeguard critical data. Database Migration & Version Control: Support database version upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new features in PostgreSQL. Ensure database changes are documented, versioned, and tested to maintain stability. Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute backup and disaster recovery plans for critical data assets. Ensure regular backups, data replication, and failover strategies are in place. UPI PSP Schema Knowledge (Plus): Requirements: Experience: 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, primarily with PostgreSQL. Technical Skills: Proficiency in PostgreSQL database management, tuning, and optimization. Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/pgSQL, indexing, and query optimization. Experience in database security, access controls, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Educational Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
