- Department: Manufacturing / Operations / Quality Location: India Description The Project Manager is a senior-level role responsible for leading the establishment of a new greenfield factory. This role is critical to the organization's strategic objectives and involves managing complex, large-scale project. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, from planning and design to construction and commissioning, with a focus on factory infrastructure, specialized equipment, MEP systems, utility systems, paint booth installation. The Project Manager will ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Post-project commencement, work as Facility Manager, overseeing the maintenance and management of our new factory. The ideal candidate has experience working with multinational companies in India, experience in execution of industrial projects. The candidate is an analytical thinker with a deep understanding of project management methodologies, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of delivering results on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project Planning and Coordination: Develop and manage the project plan, including setting goals, objectives, and timelines. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and quality assurance. Budgeting and Cost Management: Establish and manage the project budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting expenses. Ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented without compromising quality or safety. MEP Systems Management: Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and testing of MEP systems, including: Mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, etc.), Electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, etc.), Plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, etc.) Infrastructure and Utility Systems: Manage the planning, design, and installation of infrastructure and utility systems, including: Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Solar Power Backup, Generators, Fire Hydrant System, Transformers Specialized Equipment Installation: Oversee the installation and commissioning of specialized equipment, including: Overhead cranes, Zib cranes (also known as jib cranes), Conveyor belts Paint Booth Installation: Manage the design, procurement, installation, and testing of paint booth systems, including: Paint booth equipment (e.g., spray booths, drying ovens), Ventilation and exhaust systems, Fire suppression systems Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical, financial, and operational risks. Develop and implement risk management plans to minimize potential impacts. Quality Management: Ensure the project meets the required quality standards, including compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures. Safety Management: Ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel, including contractors and subcontractors. Develop and implement safety plans and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure their needs are met. Contract Management: Manage contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, including negotiating terms and conditions, monitoring performance, and resolving disputes. Commissioning and Handover: Plan and execute the commissioning and handover of the factory, including ensuring all systems are functioning as intended and that the facility is ready for operations. Facility Maintenance: Post-project commencement develops and implement maintenance schedules for equipment, machinery, and building systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Oversee maintenance, repairs, and replacements of facility equipment and systems. Manage facility operations, including energy management, waste management, and environmental sustainability, to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Skills and Abilities. Strong project management skills, including planning, organizing, and controlling. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in project management software, such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil), Construction Management, or a related field. PMP certification or equivalent is preferred. 12- 18 years of experience with manufacturing with experience in expansion and/or greenfield factory setup Certificates and Licenses: PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP (Program Management Professional), or equivalent certification is an advantage. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (preferred). Computer Skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, or similar). Familiarity with portfolio management tools and reporting software (e.g., Power BI, Pivot tables). Personal Attributes: Results-driven and proactive. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
