Job Description
- Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented New Product Development (NPD) Manager / Sr Manager to execute our color cosmetics product pipeline. This role will focus on managing the entire development cycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring the highest standards of quality, innovation, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of makeup categories, shades, and market trends, along with excellent vendor and project management skills. Key Responsibilities: Product Development: Develop creative briefs for new color cosmetics launches, including shade ranges, product formats, textures, and finishes. Collaborate with marketing, design, and R&D teams to align on product concepts and brand positioning. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of makeup categories, including face, eyes, lips, and specialty products, ensuring innovation and relevance. Vendor Management: Identify and onboard vendors for raw materials, packaging, and production, ensuring quality and timelines. Create, review, and manage all vendor agreements, NDAs, and purchase orders. Act as the primary point of contact with vendors for sampling, testing, and production processes. Regulatory and Compliance: Oversee all legal documentation and ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements. Manage the LM (Legal Metrology) process to ensure proper labeling and packaging compliance. Stay updated on regulations affecting the import/export process and ensure timely coordination for importing ingredients or packaging. Project Management: Coordinate with internal teams to create and track timelines for NPD projects, ensuring on-time delivery. Oversee testing and trials of products, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards. Conduct competitor research to understand market trends, emerging shades, and customer preferences. Import and Logistics: Handle import documentation and liaise with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and packaging. Address any challenges in the supply chain, proactively finding solutions to minimize delays. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Cosmetic Science, Business Management, or a related field (Masters preferred). 7+ years of experience in NPD within the beauty or cosmetics industry, preferably from Luxury/Masstige Brands. Strong knowledge of color cosmetics categories, shades, textures, and market trends. Proven expertise in vendor management, including negotiation and coordination. Experience with legal and regulatory processes such as LM compliance and import/export protocols. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and vendor engagement.
