Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant-PostgreSQL Engineer (Data Engineering | Database design |Agile Development Process | Release Management) Position Overview As a PostgreSQL Engineer, you will lead the design, development, optimization, and migration of our PostgreSQL database systems. You will collaborate closely with our product management, engineering, and operations teams to ensure the successful migration of existing systems and the ongoing enhancement of our database infrastructure to support our product roadmap. With the AWS experience you would be involved in the migration of the current databases to cloud. Key Responsibilities Database Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions Design and implement database schemas, tables, and indexes to support business requirements Database Migration Execution of database migration projects from legacy systems to PostgreSQL, ensuring alignment with product requirements and business objectives Performance Tuning and Optimization Monitor and analyze database performance Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks Implement best practices for database performance tuning and optimization. Data Management: Ensure data integrity, security, and availability Develop and maintain data backup and recovery plans Perform database migrations and upgrades Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with application developers to design and optimize database interactions Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on database-related code Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain documentation for database designs, configurations, and procedures Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations Stay current with PostgreSQL features, updates, and industry trends, and recommend improvements to our database infrastructure and processes Qualifications we seek in you! Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database development and administration preferably in product organization with deep understanding of product engineering & development lifecyle Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Postgres SQL, including complex query writing and optimization Good understanding of AWS, snowflake and kafka. Good understanding and hold on Terraform and Debezium Strong understanding of database design principles and normalization Experience with performance tuning and query optimization Knowledge of database security best practices Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies Hands on experience with database migration and upgrades Tools and Technologies: Experience with PostgreSQL tools and utilities Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good to have Qualifications: Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, T-SQL) Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes Experience with MSBI tools like (SSIS, T-SQL, SSRS, SSAS) Familiarity with Agile development methodologies Job Lead Consultant Primary Location India-Hyderabad Schedule Full-time Education Level Bachelor's / Graduation / Equivalent Job Posting Mar 12, 2025, 3:11:34 AM Unposting Date Apr 11, 2025, 1:29:00 PM Master Skills List Digital Job Category Full Time,
