This role requires a deep understanding of solar technology, project management principles, and the ability to plan and schedule design processes from concept through to implementation. Key Responsibilities: Design Planning & Coordination: Develop detailed plans for solar PV system designs across residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring that each design aligns with client requirements, budgets, and timelines. Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to define project scope, schedule, and resources needed for solar system designs. Prepare project timelines for the design phase and track progress, ensuring deadlines are met. Site Assessments & Feasibility Studies: Conduct preliminary site evaluations, including energy audits, shading analysis, and structural assessments to determine system feasibility. Perform technical site surveys, collect data, and assess conditions to ensure optimal placement and configuration of solar panels, inverters, and other components. System Design & Sizing: Develop and optimize designs for solar PV systems, using design software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helios cope) to generate system layouts, electrical designs, and simulations. Perform electrical calculations, system sizing, and energy production predictions to ensure the system meets performance expectations. Ensure that all designs comply with local regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with clients, vendors, and suppliers to understand their requirements and integrate this information into the design process. Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, project management) and external contractors to ensure the seamless integration of design plans into the overall project. Serve as the primary technical contact during the planning phase, providing expertise and answering technical questions. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed design reports, including technical drawings, system specifications, and performance projections for clients and regulatory authorities. Maintain organized and up-to-date design documentation for each project, ensuring accuracy and easy retrieval when needed. Provide design-related inputs for project proposals, ensuring the proposed solar systems meet both technical and financial requirements. Budget & Resource Planning: Estimate the cost of materials, labor, and other resources required for the solar system design and plan accordingly. Work with procurement and project management teams to ensure resources are available in line with project timelines and budgets. Help manage project costs by optimizing designs and selecting cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality or performance. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential risks during the design and planning phase, including technical, financial, or scheduling risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address design-related challenges as they arise. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, (B.tech ) Renewable Energy, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in solar project design, with a focus on planning and coordination. Technical Skills: Proficiency in solar design software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helios cope, or similar). Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, solar PV system components, and energy efficiency practices. Understanding of solar regulations, industry codes, and best practices. Familiarity with system sizing, shading analysis, and energy yield prediction techniques. Project Planning & Management: Experience in project planning, resource allocation, and scheduling. Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on project milestones and deadlines. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Personal Attributes: Detail-Oriented: Precision in design and project planning, ensuring that all components meet required specifications and quality standards. Organized: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep track of timelines, resources, and budgets. Problem Solver: Ability to identify challenges early and come up with practical, effective solutions to keep projects on track.
