As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Production Head - Woodwork to lead and optimize our manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability in alignment with our brands premium standards. Role Overview: The Production Head - Woodwork will be responsible for overseeing the entire furniture manufacturing process, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, operational leadership, and strategic thinking to drive productivity, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will lead a team of skilled artisans and production personnel, implement best-in-class manufacturing practices, and collaborate closely with design, supply chain, and quality control teams to uphold Gulmohar Lanes reputation for excellence. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Production Management Develop and implement comprehensive production strategies to align with business goals and demand forecasts. Lead the end-to-end manufacturing process, ensuring smooth workflow from raw material procurement to final assembly. Plan and oversee production schedules, optimizing resources to meet delivery timelines without compromising quality. Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency. 2. Quality Control & Excellence Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards, ensuring adherence to Gulmohar Lanes premium benchmarks. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and rectify deviations in quality. Work closely with the design and product development teams to integrate innovative techniques and maintain superior craftsmanship. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, sustainability practices, and safety standards. 3. Team Leadership & Workforce Development Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production managers, supervisors, and artisans, fostering a culture of excellence. Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of production staff, ensuring high skill levels and productivity. Promote a collaborative environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth. 4. Process Optimization & Cost Management Analyse production workflows and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost-reduction opportunities. Implement automation and advanced woodworking technologies where applicable to improve precision and output. Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost control while maintaining quality and efficiency. Monitor and reduce material wastage through strategic planning and sustainable practices. 5. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products to prevent shortages or excess stock. Collaborate with procurement team to ensure timely sourcing of high-quality materials. Develop supplier relationships to maintain consistent quality and cost efficiency. 6. Machinery, Technology & Innovation Ensure proper maintenance and optimal functioning of woodworking machinery and equipment. Stay updated on global trends in woodworking techniques and furniture manufacturing to integrate best practices. 7. Compliance, Safety & Sustainability Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the manufacturing facility. Implement safety protocols and conduct regular workplace safety training for production staff. Drive sustainability initiatives, including eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient processes, and waste management. 8. Reporting & Performance Analysis Monitor and analyse key production KPIs, including output, efficiency, quality, and cost metrics. Generate regular reports for senior management, providing insights into production performance and areas for improvement. Develop and implement data-driven strategies to enhance productivity and profitability. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education & Experience Degree: Bachelors or Masters in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Woodworking Technology, or a related field. Experience: 10-15 years in woodworking, luxury furniture manufacturing, etc. Proven experience in leading large-scale production teams and managing end-to-end manufacturing operations. Technical & Operational Expertise In-depth knowledge of woodworking machinery, joinery techniques, material properties, and finishing processes. Experience in high-quality furniture production, customization, and artisanal craftsmanship techniques. Familiarity with CAD software, production management tools, and inventory control systems. Leadership & Management Skills Excellent team leadership, training, and mentoring capabilities. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Communication & Reporting Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.
