Role Description This is a full-time on-site role located in Pune for a New Product Development Manager. The New Product Development Manager will be responsible for leading the development of new product concepts, managing projects from inception to launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful product delivery. Key Responsibilities: 1 Product Design & Development: Conceptualize, design, and develop automotive components using CAD software (CATIA, NX, CREO, SolidWorks). Implement DFM & DFA principles for cost-effective manufacturing. Work on reverse engineering projects for improvement or cost reduction. 2 Technical Documentation & Analysis: Create detailed engineering drawings, BOM, and GD&T specifications. Conduct DFMEA and risk analysis for design reliability. Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, TS, IATF, etc.). 3 Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers for feasibility and modifications. Work closely with testing and validation teams to ensure performance standards. 4 Software & Simulation: Perform basic CAE analysis (FEA/CFD) to validate designs before prototyping. Work on PLM tools for document management and product lifecycle tracking. 5 Presentation & Communication: Conduct design reviews and presentations to senior management & clients. Communicate effectively in English (written & verbal) with stakeholders. 6 Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Suggest design improvements and cost reduction ideas. Keep up with new automotive trends and integrate them into design. Key Skills & Competencies Required: Technical Skills: CAD (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks), GD&T, DFMEA, CAE, PLM Soft Skills: English communication, PowerPoint presentations, problem-solving Industry Knowledge: Auto ancillary, manufacturing processes, material selection Experience: 3-10 years (depending on position) Educational Qualifications: Mandatory: B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering Preferred: M. Tech in Design or Automotive Engineering Preferred Candidate Profile: Work Experience: Preferably 3-10 years in an auto component design firm.
