You will work closely with application development teams to ensure optimal database performance, conduct quality audits, manage replication processes, and provide on-call support. You will also play a critical role in database enhancements, troubleshooting, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring adherence to security standards. This position requires strong technical expertise, independent decision-making capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Responsibilities Analyze, design, develop, and maintain databases and their integration with external systems. Perform database enhancements, improvements, and performance tuning. Collaborate with application development teams to implement production changes and optimize queries. Conduct quality control audits to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with database standards. Monitor database transaction activity and utilization, with a focus on optimizing highly transactional environments. Schedule and optimize data replication processes. Perform root cause analysis and resolve database and application-related issues. Participate in both scheduled and unscheduled system maintenance and disaster recovery practices. Provide on-call and off-hour support, including change management and system maintenance. Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and best practices. Supervise, mentor, and guide junior database administrators and engineers as required. Document and maintain database configurations, processes, and best practices. Support and promote the values of UST and adhere to company policies and procedures. Mandatory Skills Strong experience in database design, development, and maintenance. Expertise in performance tuning and optimizing highly transactional databases. Proficiency in data replication and disaster recovery methodologies. Strong knowledge of database security standards and practices. Experience with root cause analysis and issue resolution. Advanced proficiency in SQL and database scripting. Experience in change management and on-call support. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Good-to-Have Skills Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL). Experience with automation tools for database management. Familiarity with database monitoring and diagnostic tools. Experience with Agile methodologies and project management frameworks. Certifications related to database administration (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server). Soft Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
