Job Description
- Job Summary We are looking for a skilled IT Hardware and Networking Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing both hardware and network systems. This role involves ensuring smooth operations of all IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, and end-user hardware. The engineer will provide support and implement necessary changes to ensure optimal performance and security. Key Responsibilities Network Installation and Configuration: Set up, configure, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimize network performance. Hardware Maintenance and Support: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware such as servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices. Diagnose and resolve hardware malfunctions and failures. System Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Regularly monitor and maintain network performance (bandwidth, latency, etc.). Provide on-site and remote support for system issues and troubleshoot hardware or software problems. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and other network services. Conduct regular checks and perform diagnostics on hardware and network devices to ensure optimal functioning. Network Security: Implement and manage security measures to protect network infrastructure from unauthorized access or cyber threats. Ensure firewall configurations, VPNs, and network security policies are up to date. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of hardware installations, network configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Create and update documentation related to network infrastructure and hardware inventory. End-User Support: Provide technical support to end users for both hardware and network issues. Train and guide staff on hardware and network-related topics as needed. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Assist in the implementation and management of backup systems. Ensure disaster recovery procedures for hardware and network systems are in place and operational. Skills And Qualifications Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent expert. Technical Skills In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, and other networking protocols. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and their networking environments. Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, PRTG). Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network services. Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting (servers, workstations, and printers).
