- Job Title: Sr Analyst - Data Science (Finance) Summary: Momentive Business Services (MBS) provides exceptional support to global operations, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that drives operational excellence. The Global Shared Services team, based in India and Mexico, is integral to this mission, delivering comprehensive finance and business support. In this key role within the Global Finance Shared Services Team in India, the incumbent of this role will support Commercial Finance team in focusing on designing and implementing advanced statistical models to better forecast key financial metrics such as Sales Volume, Cost, Pricing, Revenue, and Inventory trends by Segment and Region. This role requires a proactive, data-driven individual who brings deep analytical expertise and a strategic approach to improving business insights and supporting data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities Include: Tasks and responsibilities of the position: Advanced Predictive Modeling: Develop and refine predictive models using statistical methods, such as regression, time series analysis, and machine learning, to forecast financial performance across key metrics and drive proactive business decisions. Comprehensive Data Preparation: Perform data cleaning, transformation, and organization to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in analytics and modeling. Statistical Analysis: Conduct detailed statistical analysis to uncover trends, correlations, and patterns within complex datasets, translating findings into actionable insights for the business. Data Visualization and Reporting: Interpret and visualize statistical findings through tools like Tableau and MS Excel to present insights to stakeholders, facilitating effective decision-making and strategy formulation. Database Design and Management: Design, develop, and maintain databases to support efficient data storage, management, and retrieval for ongoing and future analyses. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Commercial Finance Leader, Business Finance analysts, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of analytical insights with business goals and support collaborative projects. Process Improvement and Innovation: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize data processes, enhance the accuracy of forecasts, and support the evolution of analytics capabilities within the Commercial Finance team. Additional Responsibilities: Undertake additional duties as assigned, adapting quickly to new challenges and priorities. Decision Making Authority: Low-Medium Key Metrics- Role is Accountable For: Accuracy and reliability of financial forecasts Efficiency of data processing and reporting Timeliness and relevance of insights delivered to stakeholders Key Relationships: Commercial Finance Leader Business Finance Leaders Operations Finance Leader Finance Analysts Cross-functional teams across Operations, Sales, and other functions as required Travel Requirements As needed Basic Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in applied mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis within a business finance setting. Strong expertise in Data Visualization tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Excel, with an ability to communicate complex findings effectively. Advanced skills in Big Data, Data Structures, and Machine Learning. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Java for data manipulation and model building. Familiarity with business finance processes, particularly within commercial finance functions.
