Job Title : Manager Automation & Control Systems Location : Chennai, India Company : VBCC High Temperature Instruments Private Ltd Employment Type : Full-time, Onsite Experience Required: 10+ years in Automation & Control Systems Salary Range : 9,00,000 to 12,00,000 Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering. Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Manager Automation & Control Systems to lead our automation engineering team. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in industrial automation, control systems, and embedded technology, with hands-on experience in PLC, SCADA, HMI, LabVIEW, and IoT-based automation solutions. This role requires a strong background in electrical and electronics engineering along with a passion for innovation and efficiency in industrial automation. Key Responsibilities: 1. Industrial Automation & System Design Develop and implement PLC, SCADA, and HMI-based automation solutions for industrial applications. Work with LabVIEW for data acquisition, control, and real-time monitoring. Design and integrate IoT and embedded systems into industrial automation frameworks. 2. Installation, Commissioning & Service: Oversee installation, commissioning, and servicing of automation systems in industrial environments. Ensure proper configuration and testing of automation equipment to meet client and operational requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to control systems, PLC, SCADA, and IoT-enabled devices. 3. Software Development & System Integration Program, test, and deploy automation software and firmware for embedded systems. Develop control algorithms for real-time applications using industry-standard programming languages. Integrate field devices, sensors, actuators, and industrial communication networks (Modbus, Profibus, OPC-UA, EtherCAT). 4. Electrical & Electronics Engineering Work with power electronics, circuit design, motor control systems, and instrumentation. Troubleshoot and optimize electrical and automation control panels. Ensure compliance with ISO, IEC, and industry safety standards. 5. Team Leadership & Project Management Lead a team of Electrical engineers and provide technical mentorship. Manage multiple automation projects, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing and industrial processes. 6. Continuous Innovation & Industry 4.0 Integration Research and implement advanced technologies like AI, Machine Learning, and Industrial IoT (IIoT). Develop cloud-based automation systems with edge computing and predictive maintenance capabilities. Stay updated with industry advancements and recommend automation improvements. Technical Skills & Tools Required: Automation Platforms: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi PLCs SCADA & HMI Software: Wonderware, WinCC, Ignition, FactoryTalk, iFIX Programming Languages: Ladder Logic, Structured Text, C/C++, Python (for automation & AI applications) Embedded Systems & IoT: Microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, STM), RTOS, MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP Electrical & Electronics: Circuit design, power systems, sensors, actuators, control panels Software & Simulation Tools: MATLAB, LabVIEW, AutoCAD Electrical, TIA Portal Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering. Minimum 10+ years of experience in industrial automation and control systems. Certifications in PLC/SCADA programming, IoT, or Embedded Systems (preferred).
