About the Role As a Senior Data Scientist Price Optimization & Forecasting, you will play a critical role in developing and deploying advanced machine learning models for price optimization and demand forecasting. In addition to your technical expertise, you'll be a key point of contact for client management, leading client-facing projects, and delivering actionable insights to address complex business problems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into data solutions while ensuring alignment with client objectives. Youll also mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment to ensure continuous learning and growth. Responsibilities Model Development: Design, implement, and scale machine learning solutions for price elasticity, price and promo optimization, and demand forecasting by considering key elements related to FMCG and Retail Industries. Hands-On Data Science: Be directly involved in hands-on implementation of models, writing modular codes for scaling solutions using libraries like pulp, cvxpy, temporal fusion, XGBoost and time series libraries. Having experience in working on cloud notebooks like Databricks for data analysis, model development, and deployment. Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges, define data-driven solutions, and implement pricing models and forecasting tools. Client Management: Serve as the primary data science lead for client interactions, managing expectations, providing technical expertise, and presenting data-driven insights and recommendations to clients. Ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. Innovation: Explore new opportunities to improve existing pricing and forecasting solutions, driving innovation to enhance business performance in the FMCG/Retail sector. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and researchers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Required Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field. 6-8 years of experience in data science with a focus on price optimization, demand forecasting, and predictive modelling, preferably in the FMCG or Retail industry. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply quantitative techniques to real-world business problems in the FMCG/Retail space. Proven ability to manage client relationships, effectively communicate technical solutions, and deliver impactful results. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical results to non-technical stakeholders. Passion for staying up to date with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and pricing analytics. Preferred Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for model deployment and data processing. Familiarity with machine learning operations (MLOps) and deployment pipelines for scalable forecasting and pricing solutions. Published work in top-tier conferences or journals related to price optimization, forecasting, or retail analytics.,
