- Job Title: Application Chef Department: Culinary Development Reports To: CEO Location: Kochi, India Summary Bayfield Food Ingredients, a leading provider of high-quality food ingredients, seeks a talented and creative Application Chef to join our dynamic culinary development team. The incumbent will play a key role in showcasing the versatility and value of Bayfield's ingredients by developing innovative and delicious applications across a wide range of food categories. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Develop and demonstrate a wide variety of food applications utilizing Bayfield's ingredients. This includes, but is not limited to: Savory dishes (soups, sauces, marinades, glazes etc) Culinary Procuts ( Arabic, Broasted, fried, Korean Curries) Snacks and appetizers (Starters) Beverages Dairy-based products (yogurt, ice cream) Conduct culinary trials and experiments to evaluate Bayfield's ingredients" performance and sensory attributes in various applications. Create and document detailed recipes, including ingredient lists, cooking instructions, and sensory evaluations. Prepare and present food samples to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and marketing departments. Collaborate with food scientists, marketing professionals, and sales representatives to develop new product ideas and market positioning strategies. Stay abreast of current culinary trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the culinary lab. Participate in industry events, trade shows, and customer demonstrations. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field preferred. Experience: 3 to 6 years of professional culinary experience in a relevant setting (e.g., restaurant, food manufacturing, culinary school). Proven experience in recipe development and food product formulation. Skills:Strong culinary skills, including baking, cooking, and food preparation techniques. Excellent understanding of food science principles and ingredient functionality. Creative and innovative thinking with a strong passion for food. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred: Experience working with food ingredients and/or in a food manufacturing environment. Knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques.
