With a strong focus on R&D and manufacturing excellence, we are expanding our product portfolio and seeking a Sourcing and Product Development Specialist to strengthen our procurement and product innovation efforts. Job Overview: We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Sourcing and Product Development Specialist to lead the procurement of raw materials, components, and finished goods while driving new product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in vendor management, material sourcing, cost negotiation, and working closely with design and manufacturing teams to bring innovative orthopaedic and rehabilitation products to market. Key Responsibilities:Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and manufacturers for raw materials, components, and finished products. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance. Monitor market trends, raw material pricing fluctuations, and competitor sourcing strategies. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality certifications. Product Development & Innovation: Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams to develop new orthopaedic and rehabilitation products. Source innovative materials, components, and technologies to enhance product performance and differentiation. Coordinate prototyping, testing, and iteration processes to ensure product feasibility and market readiness. Work closely with manufacturing partners to optimise production processes and reduce costs. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all sourced materials and products meet Malu Healthcares quality standards. Conduct supplier audits and implement corrective action plans as needed. Collaborate with quality control teams to address product defects or inconsistencies. Cost Optimisation & Supply Chain Efficiency: Analyse and optimise procurement costs without compromising quality and compliance. Work on inventory management strategies to prevent overstocking or shortages. Identify opportunities for supply chain improvements and risk mitigation. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's/Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or product development, preferably in the healthcare, orthopaedic, or medical devices industry. Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract negotiation skills. Understanding of material properties, product design, and manufacturing processes. Ability to analyse market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks. Familiarity with ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards related to medical devices is a plus. Proficiency in ERP systems, supply chain software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
