Job Description
Position : Head of Engineering, reporting to the CEO
Education Qualification : Engineering graduate in Electronics or Computer Science, preferably with Masters degree in Engineering
Professional Experience : 18-20 yrs in design and engineering of avionic/ software systems with 2-3 years as head of the Engineering. Experience in the area of avionics and virtual training/ simulation systems is desirable
Age : 40 - 45 years
Job Responsibilities :
- Heading Engineering Department
- Leading Project execution, taking ownership for targets; providing solutions to achieve goals
- Developing competencies
- Building & mentoring team through strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Product Development
- Requirements analysis and design conceptualization - coordinating and finalizing requirements & acceptance plans for the avionics, simulation and virtual training systems
- Product design & development using internationally accepted design practices - guiding & leading team of hardware, software and visuals engineers to provide end-to-end solution
- Design Reviews - Coordinating Review documents/ statement and conducting project/ design reviews with management/ customer/ user
- Ensuing quality - building product quality through the quality plans in the design process
- Product delivery & Support - planning and guiding product integration, installation & commissioning, configuration management and post-delivery product support
- Engineering Management
- Engineering Management - managing product development & delivery as per planned time lines & target costs
- Identifying Growth Areas Identifying new programs, products, technologies, markets for ensuring competitive edge and business growth
- Knowledge Management Acquiring domain knowledge and guiding team in the area of software design, electronic hardware & programming languages, as relevant to avionics, simulation and virtual training systems
- Engineering Audits - Coordinating internal/ statutory audit to certify process/ products
- Budgeting & Cost control - Coordinating new proposal, implementing budget control
- Business coordination - with Customers and Companys other functions to understand their needs to achieve the business objective and goals
