Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead group classes.The main duty for yoga instructors is to create a curriculum and lead groups through various levels and types of yoga practice. This can include doing administrative work for the class, getting equipment together and getting to know what participating clients want.
- Demonstrate practice and technique.As the expert, you'll use your body to show the correct way to get into poses, the most beneficial breathing patterns, and tips for achieving spiritual wellness.
- Offer adjustments and training recommendations.Not all of your students will be as experienced as you, so you'll need to gently adjust their bodies, provide them with alternative poses and assist them with other parts of their fitness regimens.
Job Duties:
- Analyze student requirement and develop yoga sessions according to same.
- Prepare and develop music tapes for sessions and student levels.
- Develop and assist students to develop stretching and relaxation exercises.
- Monitor performance of all students and evaluate techniques and equipment and ensure proper use.
- Design and demonstrate training activities to students and assist in various exercises.
- Prepare and initiate warm up cool down exercises in program.
- Assist students and ensure appropriate use of exercise heart beats.
- Ensure all students come in proper shoe and dresses for exercise classes.
- Analyze activities, identify risks and develop preventative measures.
Required Skills:
- One has to get training from an expert from Yoga Alliance
- Next step is certification after completing the required amount of hours in training
- Strong communication skills; both in-orally and written
- People management skills
- Creativity skill
- Experience dealing with conflict
- Comfort in a team environment
- Completion of an internship or field experience in secondary education
