The security engineer is responsible for implementing the DevSecOps needs and practices for the software organization.

This position is part of the engineering department of Cepheid and will be located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Work with developers to embed the security into the SDLC culture
• Automate the vulnerability scanning process and integrate security tools into CI/CD pipeline.
• Perform security assessments and source code reviews against the applications
• Perform security configuration reviews of software and infrastructure
• Identify, analyze, and prioritize the security vulnerabilities
• Automate where required in identifying the security issues

The essential requirements of the job include:

• 3+ years of experience in implementing and embedding security controls into DevOps pipelines, using common DevOps configuration and automation tools like Chef, Ansible, and Puppet
• Strong understanding of security technologies, experience working with a variety of technologies, security problems, and troubleshooting of security incidents.
• Working knowledge of implementing automated testing, rapid and incremental software updates, security improvements, and threat preparation practices
• Fluent in programming languages like Python and Java, comfortable using developer tools like GitHub and Docker, and a comprehensive understanding of Agile
• Knowledge of latest risk assessment techniques, threat modeling approaches, cybersecurity threats, and best practices
• Good understanding on static code analysis tools like Veracode, SonarQube, checkmarx etc.
• Good understanding on desktop/thick client application security.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Further knowledge of DevOps Automation tools like TerraFrom, CloudFormation
• DevSecOps toolkits - Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Veracode, OWASP ZAP , Black Duck or comparable technologies
• Cloud security frameworks (AWS cloud)
