- Role Overview The Head of Engineering Departments will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to the Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, and Networking departments for one of our EPC client who is leading provider of diverse turnkey solutions for High Voltage Power Transmission Lines, Substations and Distributions lines. This role will be crucial in aligning engineering efforts with the company's overall business objectives, driving innovation, ensuring the quality and efficiency of engineering deliverables, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background across these disciplines, coupled with proven leadership abilities and a strategic mindset. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision and direction for the Hardware, Software, and Networking departments, aligning with Client's business goals and technological advancements. Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the three engineering departments, ensuring efficient resource allocation, effective project management, and adherence to timelines and budgets. Team Management and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews. Technical Guidance and Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering teams, ensuring the adoption of best practices, standards, and methodologies in hardware design, software development, and network infrastructure management. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments, including Project Management, IT, Procurement, and Operations, to ensure seamless integration of engineering deliverables and support overall project success. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain high standards for the quality and reliability of hardware, software, and network solutions developed and implemented by the engineering teams. Innovation and Technology Adoption: Stay abreast of the latest technological trends and advancements in hardware, software, and networking, and drive the adoption of innovative solutions Budget Management: Develop and manage the budgets for the Hardware, Software, and Networking departments, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal utilization of resources. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key technology vendors and service providers related to hardware, software, and networking. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to engineering projects and operations. Key Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field). Minimum of 15-20 years of progressive experience in engineering roles, with significant experience in hardware, software development, and networking. Proven track record of leading and managing multiple engineering teams and projects simultaneously. Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle and project management methodologies. Excellent technical acumen across hardware engineering principles, software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and network infrastructure and security. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with business objectives. Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Experience in budget management and vendor negotiations. Must-Haves Experience overseeing EPC teams responsible for both hardware and software development. Solid understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security principles. Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Specialized Skills And Certifications (Preferred) Professional certifications in relevant areas such as: Hardware: Certified Hardware Engineer (CHE), certifications related to specific hardware platforms or technologies. Software: Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP), certifications in specific programming languages or frameworks (e.g., Java, .NET, Python), Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner). Networking: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, certifications in cloud networking (e.g., AWS Certified Networking Specialist, Azure Network Engineer Associate). Experience with engineering tools and software relevant to hardware design, software development, and network management. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations. Experience in implementing and managing engineering quality assurance processes. Familiarity with IoT concepts and implementation. Experience in a project-based or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment, preferably within the power transmission,
