Senior Power BI Developer @ Siemens

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying data-driven solutions using Power BI, transforming raw data into insightful dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, extensive experience in data visualization, and the ability to collaborate across teams to support decision-making processes.

Task and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements. Focus on user experience and story-telling design of the dashboard.
• Create and maintain efficient data models and relationships to optimize report performance. Create complex DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes. Connect Power BI to various data sources, including SQL databases, Excel, and cloud services, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Implement performance tuning and optimization techniques to enhance Power BI report efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Work closely with data engineers and requestors to gather and understand their requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Prepare detailed documentation, including data dictionaries, process workflows, and user guides.
• Provide training to end-users on Power BI functionalities and best practices and assist in troubleshooting issues.
• Implement Power BI service administration, including role-based access controls, workspace management, and data security policies.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Power BI development and data visualization.

Technical Expertise:

oProficiency in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.

oStrong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.

oExperience with data modeling and ETL processes.

oFamiliarity with integrating Power BI with other platforms and APIs.

Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to translate business needs into visualized solutions.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Soft-skills: We expect you to own your tasks, keep high attention to details, be solution-oriented and organized.

Education: A bachelors degree in computer science, data analytics, or relevant fields

Certifications: Power BI certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are a plus.
