Shift Timings: 5.30 PM to 2.30 AM IST
The Network and Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of network resources, as well as proactively identifying and mitigating security risks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of networking principles, security best practices, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Responsibilities:
* Network Design and Implementation:
* Design, configure, and implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN solutions.
* Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
* Evaluate and recommend network hardware and software solutions.
* Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
* Network Maintenance and Monitoring:
* Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as firmware upgrades and patch management.
* Configure and maintain network monitoring tools.
* Ensure network availability and reliability.
* Security Implementation and Management:
* Implement and manage security devices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
* Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
* Monitor Network and security logs and respond to incidents.
* Implement and manage endpoint security solutions.
* Perform security audits.
* Troubleshooting and Support:
* Provide technical support to end-users and resolve network and security-related issues.
* Respond to network and security alerts and incidents in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues.
* Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date network and security documentation.
* Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and vulnerability assessments.
* Document change management procedures.
* Staying Current:
* Keep abreast of the latest network and security technologies and trends.
* Participate in training and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP) are highly desirable.
* Experience: 8+ years of experience in network administration and security.
* Technical Skills:
* Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
* Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco network devices (routers, switches), Firewall, Checkpoints, VPN and Load Balancers.
* Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
* Knowledge of security principles and best practices.
* Experience with security devices and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM).
* Experience with cloud networking and security (AWS, Azure).
* Experience with scripting languages such as Python, or Bash.
* Experience with wireless access point networking.
* Knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Linux).
* Soft Skills:
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
* Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with specific industry regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
* Experience with automation and orchestration tools.
* Experience with VOIP and related technologies.
* Experience with zero trust implementations
