 Project Financial Management Product Owner

Job Description

about the role

Project Financial Management Product Owner Job Title: Project Financial Management Product Owner
Job Summary:
The Project Management function within Orange Business is undergoing a major transformation, driven by the Triumph Program. We aim to build an improved end to end Project Management Process, enabled by the ServiceNow SPM ( Strategic Portfolio Management ) tool. SPM will be the single workstation for over 1000 users, including all OB Project Managers ( OBI & OBF ), Associate Project Managers ( GDO ) and other stakeholders.
Project Managers are also taking financial responsibility for their build deployments, managing financial controls and ensuring alignment with the original business case. To enable this, we have intermediate and target tooling solutions for management of Project Financials:
Target for OBI and OBF ( under design ): Using the finance tools ( Planning Analytics / Fusion Project Financials ) with full integration into ServiceNow SPM.
Intermediate for OBI ( already live ): Using the Orbit tool to initially provide financial management of Professional Services cost and revenues PLUS bringing additional elements to enhance P&L controls.
As the Product Owner (PO) for Project Financial Management, you will work closely with the Triumph Financial Management Workstream Leader. You will have an initial focus on Orbit. This interim tool ( expected for the next 2 years, whilst the target solution is built ) is already live and supporting over 130 Projects. You will be responsible for maximizing the business value created by the Agile development team ( 5 people ). You are the voice of the customer and are responsible for ensuring the product backlog is well defined, prioritized ( in line with business requirements ), and ready for development. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will bridge the gap between business objectives and the technical implementation, ensuring features and solutions are delivered in line with the overall product vision and that they meet the required quality criteria.
You will also be part of the Triumph Financial Management Workstream and work with the team on the development on the target solution ( Planning Analytics / Fusion Project Financials with full integration into ServiceNow SPM ). You are the bridge between the intermediate and target solutions ensuring alignment. As the solution is implemented, you will play a pivotal role in helping to manage the user transition from Orbit to ServiceNow SPM and eventually decommissioning Orbit. Your role will then focus 100% on the ongoing management and future development of Project Financial Management in ServiceNow SPM. You will work as a team with the overall SPM Product Owner ( with you taking a lead on all matters financial ).
This role will reporting functionally to the Head of the Project Management Practice ( which has overall ownership of the PM Process and Tooling ), with a dotted line to the Triumph Program Manager ( + regular interaction with the Triumph Financial Management Workstream Leader ).

Translate requirements into well-defined feature requirement backlog and work with CTIO to build clear user stories.
Building the Vision and Roadmap: building the Vision / Roadmap ( in conjunction with the Triumph Financial Management Workstream Leader and other key stakeholders ) and communicating it.
Managing and Prioritizing the ( CTIO ) Team Backlog: Collaborate with the team to ensure that the backlog items are clear, concise, and achievable. Prioritize based on customer needs, business goals, strategic objectives and technical dependencies.
Supporting the ( CTIO ) Team in Delivering Customer Value. You will answer questions, provide guidance, and remove obstacles that prevent the team from delivering high-quality work. Attend and actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Demos, and Retrospectives.
Training and Communications: Maintenance of training materials, delivery of training and communications to users. Note that driving user adoption and answering daily queries / issues is not within the duties of the PO and is instead managed by the Regional Squads .

Building the Target Solution: You will play a key role in the team building the target solution, ensuring that it is an improvement on Orbit and preparing the transition to SPM ( and decommissioning of Orbit ).
