Job Summary The Global Service Expert, Virtualization & Monitoring Platforms will lead the strategic development, implementation, and management of Virtualization & Monitoring Platforms to ensure seamless support for business operations, emphasizing agility and scalability. Your Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage and operate Virtualization Platforms to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security across the enterprise. Support the management of Monitoring Platforms to facilitate a stable and performance-oriented IT infrastructure across the enterprise. Oversee the effective delivery and continuous service operations of Virtualization & Monitoring Platforms, ensuring alignment with business needs and IT service management (ITSM) practices. Provide best-in-class support for Virtualization & Monitoring technologies, not only within core IT infrastructure but also by enabling application teams to leverage these platforms efficiently. Ensure the health, security, lifecycle, and operational resilience of Virtualization & Monitoring Platforms through proactive management and governance. Lead 24x7 operational oversight by directing both internal and external technical teams, ensuring service availability and incident resolution within defined SLAs. Manage vendor relationships and service providers, ensuring contractual obligations are met, tracking actual service utilization, and holding vendors accountable for performance in line with business service expectations. Drive compliance with IT governance, security standards, and best practices, ensuring adherence to internal policies and industry regulations. Your Key Competencies Virtualization & IT Infrastructure Management Hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale virtualization environments, with a solid grasp of performance optimization, capacity planning, and troubleshooting. IT Service Management & Governance Strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices (ITIL Foundation Certification preferred). Ability to apply ITSM processes in a technical environment. Compliance & Risk Management Strong knowledge of IT controls, security, and risk management frameworks, including compliance with GxP validation standards and IT governance policies. Systems Integration & Automation DevOps mindset with a deep understanding of system integration, automation, CI/CD practices, and full solution lifecycle management from inception to retirement. Analytical & Decision-Making Skills Ability to assess complex IT challenges, make data-driven decisions, and provide actionable recommendations. Cross-functional Collaboration Proven ability to work across IT teams, bridging infrastructure, application, and security functions to ensure seamless operations. Customer & Service Excellence Strong commitment to a service-first approach, ensuring high levels of availability, reliability, and user satisfaction. Minimum Requirements What youll bring to the role: University degree in Computer Science or comparable education 10+ years of experience in working with hypervisor and virtualization technologies. 5+ years of experience with latest generation monitoring tools, like Splunk or ELK Experience with hyper converged infrastructure platforms Experience in both on-prem and cloud deployment of workloads. Experience in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Experience in Service Management or Engineering of a global service portfolio in similar areas as above, across geographies and business areas. Track record in delivering on time, quality and budget. Experience in negotiating agreements with corporate suppliers in close co-operation with the sourcing function.
