This Infra Ops Tech Lead - Storage and Backup role would be responsible for managing the Enterprise Storage & Backup infrastructure across the range of data storage platforms that comprise the Ameriprise Technology world.
The emphasis of this position lies with management of all centralized storage technologies, including storage provisioning, storage monitoring & performance analysis, while supporting a multi-vendor, cross-platform environment.
This storage platform includes the various NAS & SAN environments in Cloud (AWS & Azure) as well as On-Premises, storage networks, and all other technologies classified as enterprise data storage technology.
The responsibilities will include deep-diving into performance monitoring, analysis & associated troubleshooting, as it relates to these technologies.
Managing and maintaining the lifecycle of companys storage-based systems and the deployment of these storage technologies is another core responsibility for the individual manning this role.
The role would also be an escalation point for related technical queries and oversight of technical decisions relating to the Storage Operations team.
In addition, he/she will be responsible for understanding business objectives and seeking ways to help the company meet these goals with storage technology.
He/she will be required to prepare documents such as Performance-analysis & trend-identification graphs for all storage subsystems and any business analyses related to storage-based technology. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Provide documentation for storage deployments or systems that rely on them
Sound knowledge of Backup Technologies: Commvault & AWS Backup
Maintain Operations documentation for storage-based platforms
Maintain the health of the NAS & SAN environments
Monitor performance of storage environments and the systems that rely on them
Perform & manage the emergency maintenance of storage-based systems
Create and execute RFCs for storage-based changes
Create business documents for new storage-based offerings
Work on projects as assigned
Manage and maintain the companys storage-based systems and the deployment of these storage technologies
Understanding business objectives and seeking ways to help the company meet these goals with storage technology
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science/Engineering,
7 - 9. 8 years of relevant experience in CommVault + AWS Cloud Storage & Backup + NetApp
Strong background in managing/supporting enterprise level SAN/Object storage systems e. g. Pure Storage + ECS
Knowledge and experience with CIFS, NFS, FC, iSCSI communication technologies (Brocade, Cisco)
Awareness of enterprise level backup and recovery management solutions (Commvault & AWS Backup)
Should have administered/knowledge of Backup schedule, backup reporting, failures and resolution within the defined SLA.
Background of enterprise-wide backup administration
Understanding of backup architecture: Software/hardware providers.
Understanding of Hybrid and Cloud Storage.
Knowledge and experience with SAN Virtualization and SAN replication technologies used for resiliency and disaster recovery.
Awareness of industry best practices and market trends in the in the storage infrastructure arena
Knowledge and experience with server administration and file system configuration activities
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating System.
Strong understanding of IT Operations and ITIL disciplines (Incident, Problem, Change, etc. )

Assertive, confident and comfortable taking the lead by establishing command and control during troubleshooting or recovery scenarios when necessary
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required (troubleshooting or other problem/incident management experience)
Strong thought leadership and motivation with the ability to work independently
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous work streams simultaneously
Must have great attention to detail while operating with urgency, focus and discipline
