Summary: Onix is seeking an experienced Presales Senior Cloud Data Architect with Data Warehousing experience that will play a key role in designing and implementing data solutions that meet client business needs and support the overall cloud data architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data management, with a significant focus on data warehouse design and development. The candidate will have experience in cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
Scope/Level of Decision Making: This is an exempt position operating under limited decision-making and supervision. Position performs a variety of assigned activities, referring more complex issues to the manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Adept at collaborating with stakeholders, providing strategic IT leadership, and driving digital transformation through innovative architecture solutions.
- Proven track record in managing end-to-end Solution Designing and optimizing system performance in solutions, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Experienced in providing technical leadership throughout the pre-sales cycle, from initial client engagement and requirement analysis to solution design, PoC (Proof of Concept) and technical presentations.
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end cloud solutions across multiple platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and industry sectors, focusing on optimizing data architectures, cost efficiency, scalability, and security.
- Leveraged AI-powered force solutions to enhance operational efficiency by automating decision-making, resource allocation, and real-time performance monitoring, reducing operational costs and improving responsiveness.
- In-depth experience in collaborating with sales teams to design tailored cloud architectures, conducting technical evaluations, creating solution proposals, and presenting solutions to clients.
- Strong ability to engage with C-level executives and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business goals and cloud strategy, while building and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Specializes in cloud cost optimization, security, automation, and DevOps integration. Known for delivering innovative, high-performance solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.
- Successful in leading cross-functional teams, collaborating with sales, engineering, and operations teams to deliver seamless, client-centric cloud solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data management.
- Strong experience with data warehouse design, development, and Maintenance in a cloud environment.
- Experienced with cloud based data platforms such as GCP and AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD and automated delivery systems.
- Experience architecting, designing, and developing data platforms on AWS and/or GCP platforms.
- Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as postgresql or mongoDB.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, SQL, Java or C++
- Strong knowledge of ETL / ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and data modeling.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with data governance and compliance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
- Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Infrastructure provisioning (Terraform, CloudFormation, Cloud Foundry, others)
- Containers & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Helm)
- Strong Systems Architecture background - Infrastructure, OS - Windows/Linux/others, Networking, Data Storage, Backup, DR Solutions, etc.
- Certification as an AWS solutions architect, cloud security certification, and/or Google Cloud engineer certification a plus. (Other cloud-related certifications are also a plus.)
- Experience working in an Agile or SCRUM
methodology in a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Proficient in programming languages such as R, Scala, Perl, or Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Bi and reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI).
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, and EMR.
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
Travel Expectation: Up to 15%
