Summary Statement:
We are seeking a highly technical and experienced Devops/Cloud Engineer to lead and develop next - generation architecture to support enterprise for various business units across the organization.
Qualified candidates must act as primary POC for VMware and Cloud Administrator. Must have good knowledge in evOps concepts, code deployment processes, microservices, serverless architecture preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Automating build, release/deployment, manual processes and workflows.
- Ensure that software builds happen predictably, consistently and reliably.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect scope, schedule, and quality.
- Support and improve our tools, infrastructure, and processes that support rapid and reliable delivery of high - quality software to our production service.
- Advocate for improving our build and release toolchain.
- Support deployment activities of development and production releases including troubleshooting of release blockers such as infrastructure, configuration, and code.
- Assist development of troubleshooting system and software issues in all environments.
- Work closely with development teams to create processes and tools that provide immediate feedback on source changes.
- Write effective documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Computer Science/Software Engineering (or related) degree.
- 5+ years of cloud - focused experience as a 3rd level support specialist, DevOps engineer, software developer or similar.
- 2+ years of Linux system administration experience, particularly supporting 3 - tier web applications.
- 1+ years of experience migrating and managing AWS workloads.
- Experience in cloud technologies and practices, building applications using cloud services and infrastructure with a well - grounded knowledge of engineering and continuous delivery practices.
Professional Qualities:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have knowledge on AWS infra (S3 , EC2 , RDS , CLOUDFRONT , VPC , CLOUD FORMATION TEMPLATE).
- 4 - 6 years experience in entire SDLC, CI/CD tools, with configuration & release management, deployments and troubleshooting in cloud environments.
- Must know about Kubernetes(K8S).
- Must know about docker.
- Must have knowledge on Ansible/chef/puppet.
- Good Understanding ability in Python(Optional), Java, Javascript, and Shell.
- Strong experience with Linux systems.
- Must have CI/ CD, Jenkins GIT clear knowledge.
- Strong understanding of source code version control systems, Git, Github,bitbucket and code branching/merging strategies.
- Expertise in build and release tools.
- Logically sound problem solving approachesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Jenkins (including plugins), Ansible and other related CI/CD tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solution.
Nice to have(Optional):
- Experience with Azure, Docker, Mesos, Hashicorp Consul and Vault, Artificatory.
- Experience with Jenkins (including plugins), Ansible and other related CI/CD tools.
- Experience with JIRA.
