Job Description

The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

Development of Application Framework and Reusable components.

Business

  • Ensure Delivery cycles are run as per the quality processes, and under the governance structure agreed with all stake-holders.

Processes

  • Follow the Organisation s QA process, standards and Controls.
  • Ensure to work closely with the delivery functions and comply with testing, configuration, and release management processes for the projects responsible.

People and Talent

  • Develop skills set of the team on automation tools and utilities consistently.

Risk Management

  • Highlight risks proactively to project stakeholders, work collaboratively with them to mitigate any project risks, to resolve any critical issues and try to bring the project on track.

Governance

  • Ensure Delivery cycles are run as per the quality processes, and under the governance structure agreed with all stakeholders.

Regulatory and Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment].
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association.

  • Business Users, Operational Users, Internal Projects Team, Interface Teams

Other Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities and provide timely resolution of the issues.
  • All artefacts prepared by self meets the standards and process requirements.
  • Provide inputs to management to enhance the quality of deliverables, productivity improvement and thereby reduce the delivery window / timelines.
  • Ensure documentation of software product defects and track it to closure.
  • Adhere to the company s Compliance requirements and Policy standards.
  • No defects leakage to UAT and Production.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information
  • 10 - 13 years of experience in working in JAVA in Development initiative.
  • Hands on experience in implementing software for performance, scalability and other non-functional requirements.
  • Hands on experience in cloud adaption in accordance with Cloud Service models of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
  • Hands on experience on Java / J2EE, Spring boot, MQ-JMS / ActiveMQ,Java Script , HTML and REACT.
  • Good understanding of Assembly Development using frameworks like Apache Camel or Node.Js.
  • Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, application integration using web services and SOA.
  • Strong knowledge in domain-driven design, design patterns and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Strong in Oracle or SQL Server PL / SQL development and designing data model.
  • Hands on experience in solution design and various architecture standards.
  • Good understanding of IDL Definition using tools like RAML or Swagger.
  • Strong experience in agile methodologies and test-driven development.
  • Hands experience and Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Hands on experience on CI / CD tools like Maven and Jenkins.
  • Good understanding of coding standards and design patterns.
  • Strong work experience in JAVA Development activities.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good programming and debugging skills.
  • AWS / Azure certification.

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • AWS DevOps tools like Terraforms / AMI Bakery, Ansible, containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift and service Mesh
  • Spring, Hibernate, Aspects and Apache Libraries (Camel / ActiveMQ / Commons)
  • Web Service (SOAP / REST / GRPC) or Messaging using JMS, Kafka
  • Oracle, SQL, BPM products like jBPM or Cammunda, etc
  • Application servers / containers JBoss Fuse, Tomcat, etc
  • Jenkins / Go-CD, Git / Stash, JIRA, Maven, NodeJS
  • JEE specifications like JAX-RS, JAX-WS, JPA
  • Data structure and Algorithms
  • Linux / Unix environments
  • JUnit / QUnit
  • Java / J2EE
  • SpringBoot
  • REACT
