The Production Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the production process, optimizing productivity, quality, and safety
They will apply engineering principles and techniques to improve processes, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
The Production Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production goals and meet customer demands
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the production process, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations
Optimize production workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and minimize waste
Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot production issues, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, quality control, and supply chain, to resolve production-related issues and ensure seamless coordination
Develop and maintain production documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flowcharts
Monitor production performance metrics, analyze data, and generate reports to track progress, identify trends, and recommend improvements
Implement and manage production projects, such as process optimization, equipment upgrades, and automation initiatives, to drive efficiency and capacity enhancements
Support new product introductions and production ramp-ups, collaborating with engineering and R&D teams to ensure successful integration into production
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe working environment and conducting regular safety audits
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in production engineering, and apply relevant knowledge to improve production processes
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
Previous experience in a production engineering or manufacturing role is advantageous
Strong knowledge of production processes, methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles
Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for process optimization, such as Six Sigma, 5S, or value stream mapping
Familiarity with quality management systems, such as ISO standards, and experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives
Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and propose effective solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
Project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects to achieve desired outcomes
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools is advantageous
