Job Description
- As a Senior Engineer - QA (Quality Assurance), your role is to ensure the quality and reliability of products or services within your organization
- You will be responsible for developing and implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections and tests, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Here are the key responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the position of a Senior Engineer - QA:
- Quality Assurance Planning: Develop and implement quality assurance plans and strategies aligned with the organization's objectives
- Define quality control procedures, standards, and metrics for evaluating products or services
- Quality Control Inspections: Conduct inspections and audits to assess product quality and compliance with established standards and specifications
- Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests to identify any deviations, defects, or non-conformities
- Testing and Evaluation: Design and implement testing protocols to verify product functionality, performance, and reliability
- Conduct tests, analyze test results, and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any quality issues and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance quality control and assurance processes
- Use tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Total Quality Management (TQM) to analyze processes, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and quality metrics
- Prepare quality reports and present findings to stakeholders and management
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials, components, and services
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality requirements
- Resolve any supplier-related quality issues and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and certifications
- Stay updated on changes in quality regulations and communicate updates to the appropriate stakeholders
- Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to employees on quality control methodologies, procedures, and tools
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Risk Assessment and Management: Identify potential quality risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Conduct risk assessments to evaluate potential impacts on product quality and customer satisfaction
- Implement appropriate controls and measures to manage identified risks
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to address quality concerns, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Participate in customer feedback programs, customer complaint resolution, and customer satisfaction surveys
