- Should have a good grasp of local, national & international issues

- Should be able to Collect, verify and analyze thoroughly newsworthy information

- Should be able to write and deliver news stories with the reader's perspective in mind

- Should work on assignments and investigate news leads/tips

- Should be able to translate into English & Marathi language

- Should have knowledge of all the beats and Stay up-to-date with the latest current events in the specialized beat.

- Should be proficient in conducting interviews

- Should be able to work on a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

- Should stay up to date with privacy, contempt and defamation law

- Co-operating with editors, sub-editors and photographers
